Just ask anything you need and we will do our best. We don’t know problems just solutions! The tours can be longer or shorter, focused on culture or focused on wine, or both. Flexibility is our greatest advantage over the big tour operators. Use it!

Bikes & Gears

You will hop on high quality hybrid or trekking bikes with 24 Shimano gears, front suspension and light aluminium frame. Since 2016 we offer E-Bikes too. We give you helmets, water bottle, front bag, mudguards, rear rack, panniers, lights, repairing kit, pump, extra tube. If we forgot something just let us know!

Navigation

Each self-guided group will get detailed Garmin GPS navigation, military scale maps and a route description with tips on sights, restaurants, highlights. We will wait for you at the arrival to help at the start.  After it we have a 24/7 service hotline if you need anything. The guided groups are lead by us in English or German language. We are experienced cyclist who’s second name is fun. Forget about the conventional guiding and the umbrella to follow. As we are local people we can show you the hided values and the focus is on cheerfulness and experience rather than strict timetables.

Terrain

Hungary is a rather flat country with some hilly areas. The highest point is about 3,280 feet (1,000 m), with hills higher than around 660 feet (200 m) usually called mountains. The tour follows selected flat and sometimes slightly undulating routes where longer downhills outnumber short uphills. You cycle along a built bicycle road (asphalt) and low-traffic bicycle friendly roads (asphalt) and some good quality dirtroads. Approximatley 50% of the tour is on quiet roads, 40% on dedicated bicycle paths and 5% of roads shared with traffic and 5% on dirt or gravel roads.

Difficulty

Our tours are designed for everybody who can cycle 13-35 miles (20-50 km) a day at a leisure pace. With a suitable fitness level you will not have difficulties, but if you never do any sport activities at home, some regular training in advance is recommended. Our tours are rated leisure and are for cyclists in average physical condition.

Gastronomy

Hungarian cooking is rich, exciting, sometimes surprising, and often irresistible. Hungarians love to eat quality food, often in very large quantities, and they have always been resourceful cooks. Their favorite fare makes use of basic, fresh ingredients prepared in a simple way. Nevertheless, these dishes can more than hold their own against the most subtle delicacies. Hungarians have always known that it is possible to eat well without caviar. Hungary’s unforgettable flavours are not just the result of its people’s exceptional skills in the kitchen. Thanks to the country’s unique climatic conditions, fruit and vegetablesgrown here are particularly tasty – in fact, some are difficult to match anywhere in the world. If you have never tried Hungarian peaches, green peppers and tomatoes, you have never tasted a real peach, paprika or tomato. In Hungary, the rule of true gourmands everywhere applies even more than elsewhere – always choose the dish of the season.

Hotels

Don’t worry, you will never sleep under the bridge, rather in 3-4 star hotels and charming country inns. All of them have lovely and comfortable rooms with shower and toilet, towels included. The surroundings are always nice (old town, close to the lake, in a quiet charming village, close to the nature). We spend some nights in four star hotels with wellness and swimming pools, some nights in small towns and tiny villages. All the accommodations have a familiar atmosphere and high quality.

Transfer

The flights arrive at Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport. From here the best to catch a taxi to your hotel in Budapest. There are fix fares approx. 7200 HUF / person. It takes 20 min. to the central. The public transport is complicated (first use bus to the metro station Kőbánya/Kispest and there go to city central), not recommended. It takes 40 min. to the central. From Budapest to the starting city you can arrange transfer with us. This is the quickest and most convenient way. We pick up at the airport with our minivan and drive you anywhere.
